Resolutions

Happy New Year!

My resolutions? There's only one...no more waiting. For anyone or anything.

Life's too short and all that jazz.

Field Trip

....Eeee, so adorable. I think I'm going to have to try this out. These were taken from Coco Rocha's Blog - her agent invited his son's class to Elite to tell them all about the industry...lucky things, the only school trip I can remember is a visit to Godstone Farm.

Also take a look at their version of Sweet Child O Mine...super cute.

R.I.P Daul Kim

I feel so sad about this, I only started following Daul's blog I Like to Fork Myself a few months back. She was so beautiful, honest and intelligent.

Hansel and Gretel

Too many good collaborations to count...Lily Cole as Gretel...Lady Gaga as the witch...styled by Grace Coddington and snapped by Annie Leibovitz. I've been delving through Grace Coddington's archives over the past few weeks after having fallen in love with her in The September issue. She is so Dreamy. Here's a behind the scenes vid of the shoot and the rest of US Vogue's December issue...

Like an onion

Note to self: must perfect layering this Winter, the way she has.

It must be somebody's fault.

Italian artist Maurizio Cattelan has put together a portfolio for W's latest Art issue, featuring Lisa Evangelista. The whole thing confuses me but I love its retro feel, each of the shots could have been taken from a film, Kubrick comes to mind.

Plato's Atlantis

This caused me many a life-threatening palpitation this morning. Last night, Alexander Mcqueen presented Plato's Atlantis. At the beginning of the show, a film shot by Nick Knight of Raquel Zimmerman (writhing around in sand with a couple of snakes & later morphing into a sea creature) was projected onto a screen behind the runway, before dark robotic arms carrying cameras flew across the audience, filming them and the models...

5th Element -esque, alien creations manoevered down the holographic catwalk in ten inch 'armadillo' platforms. Reptillian & desert colours morphed into tropical ocean hues - structured, couture-like, digital print pieces were covered in snakeprints and butterfly wings, whilst some of the white faced models even had prosthetic gills around their eyes (that took 3 hours to apply)...coupled with the transparent jellyfish organza - Mcqueen's beautiful hybrids could not fail to make a spectacle...

On livestreaming and setting up glass pyramids around the world to beam his shows into, Alexander McQueen says -

“This is the birth of a new dawn. There is no way back for me now. I am going to take you on journeys you’ve never dreamed were possible.” [fashiontoast]
