Taffeta, knitting and leather, oh my!


Having just won a CFDA award for womenswear designers of the year (pictured above at the awards last night with Kirsten Dunst in a dress from a/w09), Rodarte's Laura and Kate Mulleavy's collections are a major source of inspiration for bloggers right now. That lucky little fashion hobbit, Style Rookie (literally little, she's only just turned 13) has recently been treated to a Rodarte cardi and tights by the duo, plus a behind the scenes peek at the collections.

Also, take a look at Dazed Digital's coverage of a/w09, including film footage of the show. I just can't get enough of the skeletal dresses and delicate knitwear from s/s 09 or the gothic patchwork metallics, marbled prints and wrinkled leathers from a/w 09...too many key pieces to count. Not bad for a label that was only started in 2005. Here are some of my favourites from past and present collections...
